We need a party that sides clearly with workers, renters and young people—not developers, bosses and corporations
Hi, I’m Leila. I’m a local renter and public-school teacher and I’m running in the state election to be your representative for Enfield.
I’ve seen first-hand how growing inequality, unaffordable housing, and the long-term neglect of education and other public services is impacting our community.
Labor was elected in 2022 promising it would fix the crisis in the health system. Yet ambulance ramping has only gotten worse.
And they’ve done nothing to address the housing crisis that’s driving increasing numbers into homelessness and housing insecurity. Instead, Labor policies have seen windfall profits going to big banks, developers and investors.
It doesn’t have to be like this.
A government that puts people and the community before profit could easily turn this situation around. But Labor has been more focused on turning South Australia into the ‘defence state’ and home of AUKUS than investing in things our community really needs.
We need money for housing, healthcare and education, not war!
If elected I’ll fight to introduce a five-year rent freeze to bring relief for renters. We also need to be building more public housing. I will fight for a public builder to build 20,000 new houses in South Australia to get people off the public housing waiting list and into secure housing.
I’ll fight for increased wages for healthcare workers and improved conditions to address the retention crisis, for more funding for bulk-billing clinics, more hospital beds, and an expansion of publicly run aged care facilities that treat people with the dignity they deserve.
I will also fight to stop all new oil, gas and coal projects so that we have a real chance of combating climate change. Polluting industries need to be nationalised and brought under democratic control so that they can be run for human need and the environment, not for profit.
We need people in parliament who are unafraid to stand up to the big corporate interests that dominate politics. If elected, I’ll be a voice for working-class people and all those left behind by the current system.
We deserve a state where everyone, no matter their background or tax bracket, has what they need to live a decent life.
I'll fight to
Freeze rents, build public housing
Reverse privatisation - Put gas and energy back in public hands
Expand the public transport network and make it free
Break with AUKUS - Fund health and education, not war
Cut ties with Israel, and stand in solidarity with Palestine
Achieve real climate action, abolish fossil fuels
Put politicians on a average worker's wage
